Education

We work with many kinds of school projects, including K-12, colleges and universities, and trade schools throughout Western Washington. With the current importance on fresh air to flush contaminants and ensure fresh air to combat COVID-19, and other potential airborne contaminants, we setup and confirm that systems have sufficient outside air to each space. Airtest has been part of major renovation projects, and new construction, and we consistently deliver accurate and cost-effective results.

UW Gates Law School

This 196,000 square foot building was completed in 2003. In addition to our TAB services, Airtest identified a potential system improvement. Working with the mechanical contractor, Airtest was able to have hydronic balancing valves added, at no cost to the owner, to increase the “balanceability” of the hydronic systems. This modification benefitted our balancing efforts, and will have a positive impact on any future rebalancing work.

UW Suzzallo Library

The focus of this project was a seismic upgrade to protect this iconic structure from catastrophic damage in the event of an earthquake. In addition to this, major building services such as the HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems were upgraded to modern standards. Airtest completed the TAB of the HVAC modifications in 2002.

Issaquah High School

Airtest was contracted by the Issaquah School District to perform the TAB on the replacement of the high school. The new building is a 285,000 square foot structure consisting of several two and three story sections. Airtest worked closely with the school district and the commissioning agent to ensure the success of this project.
